The Local Area
Parkstone is a residential area built in the later Victorian period and early twentieth century. It has the benefit of a large variety of properties of different designs and sizes with many unique and original features. Over the past few years the area has become ever more sought after thereby encouraging the growth of a diverse and changing population.
Upper Parkstone is largely a family residential area, with three local primary schools and a middle school. Within Poole there are a range of secondary schools including technical high, community, comprehensive, and grammar. The high street Ashley Road offers a wide range of easily accessible shops including Waitrose, Co-Op Pioneer, Woolworths, Iceland, and some one hundred other individual outlets. There is also a wide and diverse range of restaurants and bistros. A new Library and large Medical Centre. A frequent and modern air conditioned bus service connects the suburb with larger shopping and entertainment centres in nearby Poole and Bournemouth. Sandbanks beaches are some ten minutes drive away - the open countryside in Purbecks and New Forest are thirty minutes drive.
